EGC 651 Community Practicum
Practicum courses provide clinical experience and professional supervision beyond the classroom setting within two contexts: an Internship in which students receive professional supervision while attaining 125 direct-client hours in a community practicum site; and an on-campus Practicum course in which students participate in group supervision and discuss internship issues. During each session, students will present anonymous real case scenarios and have the opporturnity to discuss their clinical practice intervention skills including transference, counter-transference, interpersonal and systemic dynamics. The practicum course will provide candidates with both supervisory and peer feedback to enable them to reintergrate this information into their clinical skill applications.Course Entry Requirements: Completion of a MEd in School Counselling with a GPA of 3.30 or higher.
