IS 452 Backend Web Development

A modern web application requires a developer to have general knowledge in all steps, from concept to finished product that requires stackable technologies and skills.  This full-stack development consists of two components – frontend and backend.  The study of backend web development prepares the student to develop the server-side application systems, including server-side controllers, routers, business processes, and their accesses to the database.   The purpose of this course is to introduce the students to the fundamental concepts and models of backend web application development so that they can understand the underlying processes related to building functioning applications and appreciate the complexity of full-stack web application development. This course also helps students understand the uses of modern, sophisticated application backend frameworks.
