CHN 120 First-Year Chinese (Intensive) (HU)
This fast-paced summer intensive course is equivalent to three quarters of first-year Chinese courses. It introduces students to the building blocks of Mandarin Chinese—from pronunciation, Sinitic scripts, to grammar—while focusing on a balanced development of proficiency in speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. This course is designed for students with little or no background in the Chinese language. The course features immersion in a dynamic language-learning environment. Students will gain first-hand experience using Chinese in authentic situations.
