HUM 130 Korean Culture, Technology, and Language 1

In this course, students develop Korean language skills while learning about Korean culture and technology. Students learn Korean reading and writing skills through vocabulary development and grammar practice and develop aural comprehension and speaking skills through conversations in Korean related to culture and technology. Students apply their understanding of Korean culture and language skills to fundamental concepts of website development, administration, and functions of a web Content Management System (CMS). There are no prerequisites required.

Outcomes

  1. This course will prepare students to:
  2. 1. Demonstrate Korean language proficiency in structured conversations about topics learned in the course.
  3. 2. Discuss major elements of Korean culture, including language, norms, rituals and ceremonies, values and beliefs, and artifacts.
  4. 3. Apply fundamental skills of website design.
  5. 4. Analyze features of a web content management system.
  6. 5. Develop a basic website showcasing their Korean language and technology skills.
