ESP 558 Instructional Accommodations and Modifications for Special Ed

This course provides candidates pursuing a special education endorsement with an understanding of evidence-based practices for serving students with disabilities in K-12 settings. Candidates will develop their skills in developing special education programming through adaptation, program design, and collaboration. By the end of this course, candidates will be able to identify varied student needs, adapt instructional materials and learning environments through appropriate accommodations and modifications, implement instruction and assessment practices that are aligned with student IEPs, and co-create collaborative relationships with students, families, and professionals to ensure inclusive, accessible, and equitable programming for all students receiving special education services.
