ESP 550 Exceptionalities and Practice

The Exceptionalities and Practice Block contains outcomes to support the development of skills, knowledge, and understandings related to the needs of exceptional learners. Additionally, candidates within this block are introduced to disability categories, program deliveries, accommodations, modifications, instructional methods, behavior analysis, and behavior management. Furthermore, this block provides candidates with an introductory field-based internship experience in a P-12 special education classroom to design, construct, and practice developing learning activities, experiences, and assessment tools in a P-12 special education setting.Course Entry Requirements: Admittance to the Master in Teaching Performance Based program or prior approval of the Teacher Certification Program Director is required.
