ECU 582 Content & Resources in STEM and Science Education

This course introduces candidates to content and resources in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The course emphasizes building science content knowledge and applying that knowledge to instruction in the K-12 classroom. Candidates learn about Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the four areas of NGSS: Life Science, Physical Science, Earth & Space Science, and Engineering & Technology.  Candidates learn about scientific investigations, inquiry-based learning, and teaching science based on anchoring phenomena.
