SSC 107 Introduction to International Studies (SS)
An introductory look at the world’s political, economic, and social structures in order to gain a better understanding of how nations interact and why world leaders take particular actions to further the interests of their nations. Emphasis is placed on the impact which world events have on individuals and the lives that they live.
Outcomes
- This course will prepare students to:
- 1. Interpret international political theory and ideology and their impacts on global actors.
- 2. Investigate the long- and short-term global impacts of decisions made by political, social, and economic international actors.
- 3. Analyze the causes of global cooperation and conflict and provide suggestions for ways to either facilitate cooperation or mitigate conflict.
- 4. Apply globally centered concepts from the international system on the local and individual level.
- 5. Leverage AI technology for assisting the writing process and identifying strengths and weaknesses of AI writing capabilities.
