CJ 350 Globalization and Crime (HU or SS)
This course explores social, political, and economic impacts on various forms of crime. Students will take a multi-disciplinary approach to the exploration of international and transnational crimes, including genocide, terrorism, human smuggling, sex trafficking, and antiquities theft.
Outcomes
- This course will prepare students to:
- Describe conceptual and theoretical frameworks that give context to globalization and crime.
- Critically assess and develop views concerning the rise and consequences of international and transnational crimes.
- Distinguish the different types of transnational and international crimes and response mechanisms.
- Recognize the historic process of globalization and how it has shaped social, political, and economic history.
- Research and critically evaluate public domain and scholarly sources of information about a particular theme or concept associated with globalization and crime.
