HL 500 U.S. Healthcare Delivery System
In this course, students examine the application of health policy and economic principles in regard to managerial decision making. Students learn about the process for policy development and implementation, key stakeholders and interest groups involved in the health policy process, and how health policy changes over time within the United States. Students assess and discuss key policy initiatives related to cost, quality, and access.
Outcomes
- This course will prepare students to:
- Explain the current factors and challenges in the U.S. healthcare system and their impact on delivery of care.
- Appraise the current use of technology the U.S. healthcare system and predict how changes may affect care.
- Interpret and analyze the impact of wellness, prevention, and community health programs on the U.S. population.
- Analyze the various legal and ethical components of healthcare delivery systems and the factors that affect the operations of these systems.
