SOC 319 Criminal Behavior (SS)
This course provides an analysis of crime and criminals from a sociological perspective. Topics discussed in this course include: techniques for measuring criminal behavior; theoretical attempts to account for criminal behavior; and an analysis of various types of crimes.
Outcomes
- This course will prepare students to:
- Evaluate both historical and contemporary explanations of crime and criminal behavior.
- Assess the ability of social science theories to explain crime and delinquency.
- Assess the strengths and limitations associated with proposals to reduce crime.
