CS 500 STC MS Orientation to Master's Programs

This course provides an insight into each student’s talents and an overview of the master’s degree programs. Topics include a self-directed technology career and professional development plan, team-building skills, mentorship, and understanding the technology community milieu. Students, by taking this course, create the foundation to succeed in their technology program and career.

Prerequisite

Students must take CS 500 in the first quarter of enrollment. The MS Orientation can be taken concurrently with prep or other courses.

Outcomes

  1. This course will prepare students to:
  2. Understand course options with internships, research groups, and capstone projects.
  3. Demonstrate integration of the MS programs sequence to the School of Technology community.
  4. Apply assessments to the MS degree program choice and the individual’s degree plan.
  5. Assess their experience to align their degree program career choice.
  6. Design a professional development strategy.
