ESP 423 Curriculum Modifications and Adaptation

The purpose of this course is to provide candidates with the pedagogical foundations, strategies, and understanding to modify curriculum and make accommodations to the learning environment.  This course emphasizes the identification of students’ needs, developing appropriate strategies, and collaboration between appropriate staff members.   Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to modify curriculum and make accommodations for students with special needs.

  3. Determine appropriate strategies and curriculum.
  4. Apply collaboration skills that build effective relationships between specialists and regular education teachers.
  5. Prepare or revise a lesson plan that meets the needs of all children in the classroom.
  6. Analyze evaluation results to understand student needs.
