COUN 624 Advanced Counseling Skills

Expanding and building on the skills discussed and learned in COUN 623, students will learn the process and strategies associated with major counseling theories. Through intensive practice through triadic work in class, students will gain continue to develop technical and conceptual skills with emphasis on self-awareness, case conceptualization, racial-cultural considerations, and supervised practice in a community setting. Students will be expected to show growth in their skills that will allow them to begin to integrate these skills into their personal attributes and theoretical preferences while maintaining awareness of the diverse needs of future clients.
