International Students Admission to Study in Canada

The instructional locations in British Columbia and Alberta are authorized by the Canadian government to admit international students. International applicants who want to study in Canada, and also International international students who transfer from other Canadian institutions, must follow the same procedures as those who study in the U.S. in addition to the
general admission requirements, submit the following:

  • International student application form.
  • Nonrefundable application fee made payable in Canadian dollars, sent prior to receipt of the letter of admission.
  • Proof of English proficiency (see English proficiency policy in academic policies section).
  • Current Resume
  • Official transcripts and diplomas from all colleges and universities previously attended, and official certified translations where necessary.
  • Copy of the identification page of the student passport.
  • Current bank statement and sponsor statement if applicable.
  • Copy of study permit and/or any other official document issued by Canadian authorities if the student is already in Canada.
  • Proof of medical insurance (private first 3 months, provincial healthcare option thereafter).
  • Documentation related to any legal name change, if applicable.
  • A Student Consent to Release Education Records form if the student is getting assistance from a third party.
  • An International Student Admission Standard Deposit.
  • Additional Supplemental documentation may be required depending on the program the student applies to.

Upon acceptance students will receive a Letter of Acceptance and a Provincial Attestation Letter. They can apply online or visit their local visa application centers to obtain a Study Permit (student visa) using the Letter of Acceptance and the Provincial Attestation Letter as supporting documents. Students should consult the Canadian International Student Office at the Vancouver B.C. teaching location if needed.
