Project Management, Master of Science
The MS in Project Management provides the skills, knowledge and insights required to manage projects and programs in a variety of business applications and industries. The courses reach beyond the core project management fundamentals that are well established and practiced today and provide focus on; differentiating between project, program, and portfolio management; aligning project and program outcomes to business strategy and goals; developing project solutions to resolve business problems and achieve business opportunities; leading domestic and global teams; applying advanced project management tools based on situational context; navigating and effectively managing a variety of stakeholders and stakeholder behaviors; and increasing professional skills to succeed and advance in the project management career field.
Program Outcomes

Emphasis Areas
Students who wish to complete a Master of Project Management with an emphasis in Lean Six Sigma must take the courses listed below.
** Students pursuing an emphasis in Lean Six Sigma may be required to take additional preparatory courses to complete this emphasis area.
Lean Six Sigma (9 Credits)
Lean Six Sigma is a business strategy with a set of tools for organizations to improve capability of their processes. Many organizations now apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste within their business processes. The CityU Six Sigma program is designed to train professionals who want to gain Lean Six Sigma knowledge and certification.
The first course is designed to build student’s knowledge and capabilities to become Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Six Sigma Green Belts are individuals who function under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt to apply Six Sigma methodologies. The last two courses are designed to build student’s knowledge and capabilities to become Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified. Certified Six Sigma Black Belts are professionals who can describe, apply, and teach Lean and Six Sigma concepts and principles.
After completion of these four courses students will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) model in accordance with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. CityU’s Six Sigma program offers great opportunity for students at different stages of their career, to gain knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles that can be applied to every business process in every industry.
These courses are also designed in a way to prepare students for completion of Six Sigma knowledge test at American Society for Quality (ASQ).
