DBA 615 Organizational Identity and Culture

 In this course, students evaluate culture and identity within organizations. Students examine factors that influence organizational values, ethics, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and how leadership, governance, and policy shape organizational culture. Students also investigate external factors related to identity and culture by examining an organization’s supply chain, customer loyalty, and brand perception. By completing the course, students can apply culturally responsive principles that enhance organizational effectiveness and connect issues stemming from identity and culture to leadership, governance, and stakeholder perspectives.

  1. This course will prepare students to:
  2. Explain the value of diversity and identify strategies for strengthening cultural competency at the personal, interpersonal and organizational levels.
  3. Analyze an organization's identity and culture.
  4. Evaluate alignment between organizational identity, culture, policies, and practices, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
  5. Create strategic recommendations for aligning and/or improving organizational culture, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
