COUN 750 CES Professional Practice Seminar

Through this seminar, students meet CACREP training requirements for CES standards. The seminar incorporates supervised development and refinement of advanced counseling, teaching, supervision, leadership, and advocacy skills, and mentoring activities. Identification of and application for professional grants, and scholarly activities is explored. Membership in the American Counseling Association throughout the seminar is required.

Methods of instruction primarily feature in-class learning with some asynchronous online activities.

  1. This course will prepare students to:
  2. a) Demonstrate mastery of all doctoral CES training requirements.
  3. b) Demonstrate completion of all doctoral CES required training hours.
  4. c) Engage in Social Justice Advocacy activities relevant to the counselor education, supervision, and/or advanced clinical work.
  5. d) Engage in professional mentoring relationships.
